PJM's New Interconnection Process
PJM is adopting a “first-ready, first-served” interconnection process to hasten grid connections, mainly for renewables. It requires developers to provide readiness deposits and site control proofs to weed out speculative projects and reduce backlogs.
This is an attempt to reduce the wait times which averages in years. And arguably contributes to the number of proposed renewable energy projects that are never built.
